S1.E2 ∙ Why Education Matters for Black Caregivers

Eleven-year old Tony Rappa struggles to lead a healthy active life while afflicted with type A hemophilia. The frequent scratches and bruises that mark the childhoods of active kids seem harmless to the healthy, but these same small injuries can be debilitating or fatal to a hemophiliac. Despite the severity of his disease, Tony insists on playing hockey. As he gets older and his athletic skills improve, the level of physical contact increases. Undeterred by a family history of chronic illness and loss, his parents continue to support and encourage his athletic ambitions. Ironically, as Tony's love for the sport grows stronger, so does the possibility that his continued participation will have a fatal outcome.

For years, the mountain is moved between two countries (Brazil and China), Romulo, an ex-mineworker and now a sailor, heads into his first journey taking part of the mountain towards another one. Through the vast sea he meets other travellers and, in feverish moments he encounters his memories and the spirit of the earth. In an everyday living permeated by unknown languages, these conversations in are never left misunderstood. This way, Romulo will face slow days in the immense ocean to the other continent.

A dramatized reconstruction of events in restless Afgna province Kunduz, in 2009, and the ensuing trial of the German NATO contingent commander, colonel Klein. After the tragic loss of private Sergej Motz, son of a Russian Afganistan veteran, and two patrol mates in an ambush, tension culminates and rules of engagement are sharpened, almost discretionary. The governor, who loses a brother to the Taliban, complains the Germans act cowardly. A relatively trustworthy informer gives the whereabouts of two fuel tankers stolen by the Taliban and the presence there of the local insurgents leaders. By the time bombing from the air is authorized, the rebels have left and only citizens, coming to collect fuel leaking from the river-stuck trucks, are hit.
