The director, a French veteran of the Indochina war (La 317e Section), returned to follow a platoon of American soldiers for six weeks at the height of fighting in Vietnam in 1966. The documentary discusses the background and fate of the soldiers and emphasizes how much American culture pervades the soldiers' behaviors in the midst of jungle life and fighting.

A group of both Norwegian and Britiish specially trained military team reenacts the WWII mission of the Grouse-Gunnerside commando which was crucial for the Allied Forces in the heavy water atomic bomb war. Focused on the difficulties these men had to endure in a frozen winter environment.

Stories from modern day Iraq as told by Iraqis living in a time of war, occupation and ethnic tension.

Mixed with the testimonies of a dozen survivors, most of them young women, terrible scenes retrace from the inside the siege of Mariupol, a large port in southeastern Ukraine on the Sea of Azov, from the start of the Russian invasion on February 24 to the surrender of the last combatants entrenched in the Azovstal metallurgical complex on May 21. According to the Ukrainian authorities' estimate, some 25,000 civilians died during these three months of indiscriminate shelling and firing by the Russian army, which also destroyed almost the entire city of 430,000 inhabitants, which was then surrounded and almost cut off from the world.

This documentary blends personal accounts of what happened before, during and after WWII. One testimony tells of a sister sending tear-stained letters from the prison camp, while another survivor tells the story of how his father traded portions of the family's food that was being saved for the liberation march, a few slices of bread, for a Jewish prayer book in order to perform a Passover sedar and for Sabbath. Woven together with survivor testimonies, archival footage, original music, source music and survivors' personal photographs and artifacts, the documentary will show the richness of life before the war, the rise and fall of Nazi power, the liberation of the camps and life now, 50 years later, all as seen through the eyes of those who survived.
