Dartington Hall

Summary For nearly nine decades the land and estate at Dartington Hall, Totnes, have been used for agricultural experimentation, research and the application of new processes, with a rich and sometimes controversial history in land-based research. Today, the estate comprises of a main tenancy, Old Parsonage Farm, which covers 480 acres and maintains a milking goat herd, small Jersey herd, beef cattle and sheep with sustainable, forward-thinking farming practices. Food Rebels meets Jon Perkin and his wife Lynne and new farmer 17 year olf Ross Birbeck, who are passionate about low carbon farming methods. We also meet LandWorks programme which takes offenders from Channings Wood Prison, Newton Abbot, as well as individuals on probation and helps them back into the world of work.
