Summary Found abounded as an infant in a cemetery, Santino is adopted by a group of priests in a small town, who all pitch in to raise him as a little boy. Santino grows up happily in the church living with the priests, who raise him as their own. He proves to be a handful, so the priests all decide to scold the little boy. But they accidentally overhear him praying to God about being thankful for all the love the priests have shown him. This softens Father Anthony's heart and he relents on punishing the boy. But one day, a parishioner says some harsh words to Santino, which makes the little boy confess to Father Jose that he wishes that he could go to heaven already to meet his mother
