Sappho's Fire offers understanding about the journey that all of us must travel and the ways in which to reclaim one's older life. By following the stories of older lesbians who live in New England, viewers come to understand the deep-seated and often impenetrable fears of growing older without the certainties of family support or sufficient economical investment to obtain an appropriate retirement. What slowly unravels in Sappho's Fire is the complexity of calling oneself 'old' and the expression of this stage of life as a lesbian.

"The Shadow of Stalin" - Sixty years after his death, the cult of Joseph Stalin, one of the most cruel dictators of history, is revived by the Russians who have suffered so much. The director seeks to unravel the causes of this ambivalence. The film tells, thanks to the inventory work accomplished for twenty-five years by the historians and volunteers of the association Memorial, how, relegating terror to the margins of history, its ghosts continue not only to haunt the spirits and power, but to block any process of democratization.
