Le monde sous les bombes, de Guernica à Hiroshima

Summary Seen from the sky, the war shines in a new light. It began in 1937 when Guernica and the Chinese cities of Chongqing and Shanghai were crushed by bombs, and stopped when the Americans dropped two atomic bombs in quick succession on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. This program of destruction was invented and perfected throughout the conflict, mobilizing the most brilliant scientists and leaving behind a world in ruins. For in this new form of war, the first victims were civilians. Irreparably, the Second World War brought the planet into the era of aerial bombardment, which continues to this day.
