I Learned It From You - S1.E2

Summary In this episode, Kevin Douglas Wright continues and completes his interviews about racism with interviewees Maggie Elliot, Steven Noah Sims, and Gloria J. Battle (this episode is Part 2 and a continuation of Episode 1 - Season 1).

In this fast-paced racism documentary series, emotional stories from real-life people, powerful Action Steps, and intriguing guided questions, help us discover better ways to understand racism, anti-racism, diversity, inclusion, black lives matter, and all lives matter.

This crash course in racism is based on both the original, feature-length documentary and the book 'I Learned It From You'. Wright asks each of the interviewees the following six questions:.

1. When were you born? 2. Where did you grow up during your childhood years? 3. What color were your childhood friends? 4. What childhood games did you play? 5. What is your earliest memory of someone pointing out to you that there is a major difference between being a black person [a person of color] and being a white person? 6. How do you see the future?

As each interview unfolds and each question is answered by each interviewee, their real-life stories consistently reveal someone teaching racism that has been responsible for destroying people, cities, states, and countries, in front of our eyes, for hundreds of years.

This series is a proven way to help all of us establish or re-establish common ground with others in order to move forward without taking any detours to debate, confirm, or deny anything.

Tomorrow or the next day, we all will interact with people who are not like ourselves-white, black, interracial, a person of color or someone who is Jewish, Hispanic, Latino, Asian, Native American, lesbian, gay, physically challenged, or mentally challenged. The question is: What will 'you' teach them?
