Summary Daibazaal wants Sincline to marry a woman that he has chosen for him, Princess Sahlia of Galleria. Sincline angrily refuses, as he's still fixated with Fala. He then asks his father uncomfortable questions: what his mother looked like and how she died. In private Honerva offers to tell him about his mother in exchange for Sahlia's hand in marriage. He accepts, on the condition that she help him get Fala first. They head to Altea with an enchanted dagger, and Hoverna's cat Jaga uses it to cut Fala, who fall unconscious. Fala is rushed to the hospital in the castle, but the doctor can do nothing to save her, and she is pronounced dead. Sincline and Honerva bide their time before they can take her body, the blade hasn't actually killed her, and she will eventually revive.
