Guy Martin's War Machines

Summary In the 2nd of a 4-part special series, 'Covid-19' is causing disruption to peoples lives including Guy Martin's, who now has some extra time on his hands. With that in mind, Guy takes a well-earned rest in his shed with a cuppa, a good selection of his DVD's and looks back at some of his proudest high-speed achievements. The 4 tributes to the War Machines are: restoration of WW2 'Spitfire' fighter plane, reconstruction of a WW1 tank, servicing a cold-war era 'Vulcan Bomber' for its final ever flight. For his final challenge, Guy recreated WW2 paratrooper training for the 'D-Day' invasion, which ended with a parachute jump over Normandy in France, from a period 'Dakota' aircraft. Whilst watching these previous programmes, Guy tells us his thoughts about them, his appreciation of the engineering behind these iconic machines and the ordinary people who became extraordinary in their roles to keep us safe today.
