Summary When two older siblings were found brutally stabbed to death in their Swiss villa in 1991, the city of Tistedal, close to Halden, was in shock. A year later, Halden Sparebank's branch in Låby is robbed of a large sum of money, and a pensioner, known for having a lot of money disappears. On Christmas Eve the following year, the Quick store's manager Karl Johan Hagevik was found shot with a shotgun in his car outside the store. It becomes clear to the police that they are dealing with a serial killer, who has a motive for gain. When the police play an audio recording from the bank robbery, a family mother recognizes the voice of her husband.
