A personal journey of discovery following his dramatic near death experience. Trying to escape a violent and alcoholic past, Stephen Mulhearn finds himself on the brink of death in a Glasgow hospital. As he leaves his body on the operating table he encounters a spiritual master who brings him back to life. Leaving hospital, Stephen embarks on a quest to track down the woman who saved him. On the way he experiences miraculous rituals; gathering profound insights from shamans and healers in North and South America. Returning home, he is guided to scale an ancient Druid mountain in search of his Celtic ancestors. He discovers the secret of transcending suffering and attempts to bring back hope to the culture that nearly killed him.

The film is told through their eyes, the eyes of four street children neglected by their communities, living in the cracks of society, bursting with enormous strength to invent a new way to survive on Kenya's streets. Calling themselves "Survivors", the children have created a new tribe for themselves. A new identity rooted in their daily hustle, humor, and struggle bound by an addiction to huffing glue to cope with the growing difficulties of street life.
