S1.E3 ∙ The Journey

The Austrian town of Ebensee became infamous in 2009 when local teenagers disturbed the annual memorial service in the former concentration camp with soft air guns and Nazi paroles. 'And there We Are, in the Middle' follows the life of three teenagers in Ebensee over the course of a year.

Five airfields, each with strategic value, shaped the progress of the Great War and changed the tides of history forever - yet they remain unknown to the general public. Fearless men, strangers - arriving from the ends of the world - but also Greeks, defeated the fear of the unknown, defied death, and flew with primitive flying machines made of cloth and wood. They fought over the skies of Macedonia and the Aegean. Some of them never returned home.

A struggle diary of choreographer Irina Jammal, a Ukrainian married to an Israeli Arab. Irina teaches ballet dancing in an Arab village. She travels with her students, an Arab boy and a Jewish girl, who perform a piece from "Sheherazade" at the the Kiev youth ballet festival. They demonstrate her belief that where people can dance together they also can live together.

World War II saw 140 children born to Soviet parents imprisoned in Nazi work camps in Norway. 1,400 Soviet women were transported to occupied Norway to work in war time production, many in the fishing industry in the arctic region. The artist Jurij Salnikov is one who searching for his birth place and identity all live.
