Filmmaker Alexander Freeman who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of two, was raised by his loving and supportive parents but the one thing he has always wanted was to be in a loving relationship with a woman and to have a family of his own. When Alexander meets his life partner Orina by chance at a film screening his life changes forever for the better, especially when his daughter Maya is born. As Alexander and Orina raise Maya, have a commitment ceremony, start their lives together, and struggle with life's challenges, Alexander's parents learn to accept that Alexander can live a normal life independently and can be a great father despite their original views on the pregnancy.

While the teacher is faced towards the blackboard, one of the students makes some funny noises. The teacher can't find the person who did that, so he decides to dismiss a group of students for one week or until one of them tells him who was the one that made the noises. In the first case after some days, one of the dismissed students tells teacher the truth. In the second case, no one tells teacher the truth and the period of punishment finishes. Kiarostami asks some of the most famous people in Iran about their views on these two cases.

The narrative of the film is based on the destiny of the floristry pavilion of the former VDNKh and its long-time employee, Valentyna Voronina, who dedicated her life to supporting this centre. Suddenly, she faces unexpected changes. After forty-five years of work, she is asked to retire. Voronina opposes this decision because she believes that the plants will perish without her. At the same time, a group of mysterious radioestesists finds a powerful channel of positive energy near the pavilion entrance.
