Summary This abandoned mansion was built in 1926. It sits on 32 acres with 2500 feet of water frontage. The house is 4500 sf. It has a servants quarters with stairs. It also has an elevator. The mansion was rented out from 1995 to 1998. It was then sold in 1998 to John Lee Thompson and his wife Penny. John Thompson was a famous movie director that has won numerous awards and nominations. Some of the award winning movies included Cape Fear, Planet of the Apes, Woman in a Dressing Gown, Fire Walker, The Passage and many more. Director John Lee Thompson sadly passed away in 2002 at the age of 88. He left behind his wife and 2 children. The Thompson family later sold the property in 2008 to an unknown off shore buyer and the mansion has been abandoned and forgotten since. The mansion was originally listed for sale for the price of 14.5 million dollars and now it has been lowered to 10 million dollars. It is one of the oldest homes in the area. Most people think the house is historic but it has not been designated a historic home so it is not protected and could be demolished. I believe the house is not repairable as the mansion is extremely vandalized. It will likely be demolished in the future.
