Summary This theatre was built in 1922 and first opened in 1923. The theatre was originally for silent films, vaudeville and even had an orchestra. The orchestra pit in front of the stage was removed in 1928 to add more seating to the theatre. The theatre also hosted high school graduations, movie screenings, plays, musicals and political rallies. The building needs major updating and renovations. The roof has major leaking causing damage and mold. The building does have asbestos but this is normal for a building of this age. After years of trying to sell the 100 year old theatre the city has decided to demolish the building and others in the area for new development.
