Marcquis Graham is a 17 year old high school student in North Philadelphia who, against all odds is fighting for his school, his community and his own education. Across the ocean Godsway Anderson fights a similar battle for his school in Ghana, on the western coast of Africa. The two boys, struggle through difficulties that at first glance are different, but upon further examination are revealed to be the alike and require the same spirit, community and faith to rise above. The story takes turns through the boys life, meeting the people who have, for two boys who are very much alone, helped them to become leaders and inspirations in their communities.
