Summary In 1867 - after the triumph of the republican resistance against Maximiliano's Empire - President Juárez promoted the restoration of Mexico's government and public life and our justice system. Since then, the activity of the Supreme Court of Justice was reflected in the pages of the Semanario Oficial de la Federación (Weekly Journal of the Federation), whose different jurisprudential eras pointed out -through time- the main transformations experienced by our Supreme Court, in its role of last instance of the Judicial Power. At the conclusion of the so called "Eighth Era" - in 1995 -, the Supreme Court had achieved remarkable independence and maturity, as a result of its complex historical relationship with Mexican society, and with the other powers of the federated Union.
