S1.E4 ∙ The Skinny Skyscraper

Roshni Academy is a non-profit organization based in Delhi that helps young girls gain confidence and leadership skills to succeed beyond school. This short film is about a few girls who have gone through the program and are continuing to pursue an education despite the obstacles they face at home and in their communities.

Declared wards of the state, Native Americans were promised housing, education and health care in numerous treaties with the US Government. Like so many other federal promises, these too have not been met. The budget shortfall to the Indian Health Service continues to be about 45 percent. Add to this the generational trauma of subjugation, reservations, boarding schools and alienation, their health and their health care is in a critical state.

Music is a universal language, producing, composing and singing is a big challenge that needs lots of struggle and work. but the difficulties change between a country and another depending on their view and acceptance for music and art in general. In the hottest place on earth (Kuwait) , we will follow retail employees, lawyers, journalists and many other young men and women that try to swim against the stream and be part of the world of music.

In 2019, a dance workshop for children with cerebral palsy will take place for the first time in Germany, more precisely at the Staatsballett Berlin, organized by its education program Tanz ist KLASSE. Leonie and Hannah, two girls with very different manifestations of this early childhood brain injury, embark on their first big dance adventure together with eight other children. But what is possible for children with physical and sometimes also cognitive restrictions? And then at one of the best dance theaters in the world - the Staatsballett Berlin? The children give an impressive answer. They dance. In their own special way. Dancing means being happy. And that happiness makes the documentary "You bet I dance!" through the irrepressible zest for life of the children and the noticeable love of the parents formally tangible.

Two sisters Ati and Mindhiva; They are part of the Arhuaca tribe, a Colombian indigenous culture. Their dream is to continue with their university studies. They have no money and it is impossible for them to enter in to the National University... Nevertheless they won't give up the fight and theta will search into other forms of education. Will they be able to find the strenght to continue pursuing their dream? We will follow them into their adventure.
