In the end, they abandoned their struggle as women to focus on achieving the dream that they shared with men--the dream of creating a new nation. "Women/Pioneers" tells the story of their turbulent lives through the journals they wrote, which provide a new perspective on archival materials from that time. A hundred years ago, women pioneers came from Europe to Palestine to realize the dream of creating a new woman, who would be as independent as a man. The women pioneers have left diaries and texts which tell their stories. Their writings shed new light on the archival footage of the time. Women/Pioneers uncovers the course of their passionate battles and painful disappointments, until their defeat, giving up their own liberation for the national struggle.
