Summary Beginning of the journey in the Bay of Sydney: Sophie travels on a sailing boat with Anthony Stephens, Simon Gilkes (the opera singer) and Ella Stephens (Simon's wife): they enjoy the panorama of the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.Simon Gilkes shows Sophie the quarantine-station where the passengers of the boats had to stay if there was any ill person on board of the boats).Then Sophie and Simon have a walk in Darling Harbour, a modern neighborhood with high buildings, bars and restaurants: later they visit the Neighborhood of the Rocks found in 1788: they see the Australian Hotel built at the end of the 19th century. After the COVID-19 pandemic this neighborhood has recovered this life.Later they go to the Opera House where they meet Hamish Peter, the costumer of the Opera and go to the main stage where Simon and Sophie make vocalizes.On the next day Simon and Sophie climb the Harbour Bridges (about 1.000 steps): the guide Shauna explains them the story of the bridge and they enjoy the panorama.After that Sophie is in the countryside near Sydney: Anthony Stephens has prepared a barbecue for Simon, Ella and Sophie and they talk about the last role of Simon in the opera "Carmen" of Bizet. Sophie follows her travel to Melbourne with Noémie Seck (an ecologist) and they go to Phillip Island where they meet Daniel Kallstrom who works in the Koala Conservation Reserve : they have a walk and see the koalas.They arrive at Wilsons Promontory , a national park of 50.000 hectares: they see a wombat in the bush and hide a camera trap.On the morning they see the pictures of an echidna and have a walk in the forest: the Banksia cerrata tree is fire tolerant.After that Sophie and Noémie are kayaking on the Yarra River in Melbourne: Noémie explains that Melbourne people are very friendly (about 140 different nationalities live together in this town).They go to a famous street for its urban art , especially a huge painting of an Aboriginal woman. They cross the Royal Ardade of Melbourne and go by tramway to Queen Victoria Market: they stop at a cheese shop and the vendor gives them pieces of sheep cheese, goat cheese and cheddar to taste.In another shop they see items made with the Banksia flowers.Finally Sophie travels to Birregurra where she meets the chef Dan Hunter: they see the olive trees (brought by the Italians and Spanish immigrants) and they harvest 40 different flowers and vegetables: each flower or vegetable is cooked separately and Dan offers Sophie a plate of fresh flowers and vegetables. Besides we see zooms about the sports in Sydney (surfing, cycling, jogging and underwater rugby), about the travel through Australia with a caravan, about the life at the coasts (swimming in the sea, buying fishes, the dairy cow and the salted butter and the running for fund raising), about the French Island (the farm of Lois Airs, the guide Scott Couts who observes the koalas and the Tania Lagoon camp), about the endemic flora and the bush fires, about the animals and the bush fires, about the Greek community in Melbourne and the "Little Lon" (bar and gin distillery) and the Old Melbourne Hall (prison where Brad Wilson keeps his gin barrels).
