Summary Beginning of the journey in Siem Reap: Jérôme meets Sophany Keal and they travel by auto-rickshaw to the Baphuong temple: the buildings are covered by the roots of big trees, the temple has been built at the end of the 12th century by the king for his mother.Then they travel to Phnom Kulen and arrive at the temple of the Mountain (the cradle of the Cambodian civilization built in the 9thg century): they offer flowers and incense: they see the reclining Buddha (the greatest of Cambodia) and enjoy the panorama of the jungle.Later they go to the River of the 1.000 lingas (cut stones in the bed of the river.They arrive at a waterfall and make a cleansing ritual. After that they arrive at at the Kulen Elephant forest where they meet David Jaya-Piot who takes care for the old elephants in this reserve: the elephants take a bath in the river.Sophany and Jérôme go back to Siem Reap where they eat a kebab in a street restaurant. After that Jérôme is on the Ton Le Sap lake where he meets Sophea Seng (chef of the restaurant Lum Org)Sophea shows the uses of the lotus, the fruits, the leaves, the roots and the young plants.They go to the restaurant and eat frog legs with a touch of pepper and seeds and flowers of lotus. Later Jérôme travels to Sihanoukville and takes a boat to Koh Rong Island where he meets Vannah Vong called also Cram: a fisherman (there are only 10 fishermen i¡on the island.In the night they have supper: squid and grilled with rice.Jérôme sleeps in the house and goes on the morning to the beach where he meets Sideth Chuun: with other volunteers they have collected plastic wastes in the beaches (3-5 tons each month).
