Summary Beginning of the journey in the "Cirque de Gavarnie": Jérôme has walked with Laurent Gahery to this place with a great waterfall (422 meters high): they meet Joseph Thirante, a writer and photographer who was observing the Pyrenean chamois (in French izard): then they walked down the mountain, see some old water mills and arrive at a sport center: Fanny Sauret will be their guide for a rafting tour on the river.Finally they jump from a bridge into the river and eat a cabbage soap at the restaurant "Chez Loulou". After that Jérôme meets in Lourdes Philippe Subercazes ( travel in the funicular railway to 1.000 meters above sea level, walk through Lourdes, the Door of Saint Joseph , the basilica of the Rosary, the talk with Nicole Argentière, the florist of the sanctuary and the visit of the Cave of the sanctuary).In the next day Jérôme is in Pau with Julie Boustingorry (visit of the castle of Pau, the story of the King Henry IV and the boiled chicken-the chef Etienne Rozes-). Later Jérôme visits the "Parc Animalier des Pyrénées" with Jean-Luc : they feed the brown bears and the griffon vultures and speak about the reintroduction of the bears in the Pirenees.After that Jérôme visits the "Grotte de Médous" with Laurent Gaherny: they go exploring the cave with its underground river and talk about the medicinal virtues of the water springs.Finally Jérôme meets in Artigues the shepherd Eric : they will walk from 1.200 meters to 2.200 meters above sea level with about 900 sheep and arrive at the Col de Tourmalet: the priest Marcel blesses the flock , there are song and dances: Eric has been shepherd for 32 years and it's his last transhumance: they look at the marmots in the pastures and say goodbye. Besides we see zooms about the alpinism (Arnaud Chaulet and Romain Da Fonseca climbing a peak over 3.000 meters above sea level, about Noémie , Pilou and Mayna who are in charge of the mountain refuge of the "Espuguettes", about the pilgrimage of the bikers in Lourdes, about the renewal of the Occitan language in the Pirenees (the primary bilingual school, the traditional games, the polyphonic songs in Tarbes), about the nature reserve of Néouvielle and about the horse breeding in the Couserans -Ariège department- (the Mérens horse race, the transhumance to the "Cirque de Campuls").
