Summer 2013, the Netherlands. For the first time, the filmmaker's parents meet up with the family of the American soldier whose grave they have adopted. Another Dutch adopter has been dreaming of such an event for 70 years. Since World War II, all 8301 graves at the military cemetery in the Dutch town of Margraten have been adopted. By 2008 a waiting list is in place. The meeting is the starting point of a modest, touching and at times comical portray of 70 years adoption and connection.
