Endless class differences, deep poverty and the presence of a vision become the breeding ground for a new ideology. The labor movement splits and the Swedish Communist Party is formed. The party is quickly tied more and more tightly to Moscow, where Stalin rules with an iron fist. In the 1930s, hundreds of Swedish communists went to the Soviet Union to help build a new paradise.
