In January 2011 a popular uprising started the Egyptian Revolution. After 18 days Mubarak, an army general who came from a 30 years long dictatorship, resigned as president of Egypt. Since then the Egyptian people went trough a long electoral process, and through a lot of changes in their society. In June 2014 Abdel Fattah el-Sis, an army general became the new president of Egypt, winning controversial elections. What happened in a country that lost the battle for freedom?
