What does it feel like to have your partner taken from the home you share together, detained in a detention center and then forcibly deported from the country and to know you have absolutely no power to stop this from happening? When we think of immigrants we think of rootless people with no ties when in fact they are parents, partners and friends. This film follows Moran, an English woman over the turbulent and traumatic weekend when her boyfriend Carl is deported back to Jamaica leaving her and her young son Kai behind.

Every Memorial Day thousands of people come together at a beach in Honolulu, Hawaii to float candle-lit lanterns as an homage to loved ones who have passed away. While the ritual originates in Buddhist tradition, the event is for people of all beliefs. Against the backdrop of this highly emotional event, A Candle Lights the Heart follows five stories of loss, grief, compassion, redemption and, finally, peace: a family who loses its young son to cancer; a couple who lose their son in the Iraq war; a woman who loses a dear friend in the devastating Japan tsunami; a husband who loses his wife to cancer and the children who lose their mother; and a couple who lose their son in a fatal skateboard accident.

Home Sweet Homer chronicles a year in the life of the Erlich residence, located about 30 miles north of Detroit on 15 enchanted acres also known as 'Homer'. Starring roles are shared by the homeowners, the extended family who gathers there every other Sunday, the animals that live there (including miniature goats and donkeys and dogs) and the nature of the property itself revealing four distinct seasons.
