For many ages the Armenian nation, having no statehood, has concentrated all its values in the family and made it the center of the national spirit. The main characters of the film arrived in northern Armenia and not from paradise. They are refugees who escaped from violence. Both of them are young. The woman is pregnant. They create a world around themselves, and thus create themselves.

Thirty years ago, Tony Morales opened his hair salon on Hollywood Boulevard with dreams of catering to the rich and famous, instead he became a father figure to the many bit actors, outsiders, and runaways who had come to Los Angeles in hopes of a better life. Shot in stark black and white as a contrast to the typical glamorized images of Hollywood, this offbeat film shows a very real and unforgettable side of Tinseltown that most have never seen.

Pattica is a Cambodian-Cameroonian, who never met his father and grew up in an orphanage in Phnom Penh. The discrimination he faces because of his skin color compels him to discover more about his identity and origins.
