Their inhabitants appear to us in their daily life, without any possibility for us to really understand what they are doing, because they look like aliens. Journal is a film about the Others, about the idea of The Other. It's about the Man.

Nazareno is another man who was born and works on the continent, but nowadays survives on the island. Crossing the river is part of his routine. Under it, every day, flows the "Big River" flooded with unresolved stories.

Finally we have a Singaporean film with a hero=heroine who does not end up dead, amok, or punished for her carnal aspirations.
