An intense drama based on the true story of Peruvian rebels who in 1997 kidnapped several hundred high-ranking diplomats and government officials in an attempt to force the release of 400 political prisoners.

Frank Clayton (Gaston Glass), the worthless disinherited son of a wealthy man, John Clayton (Charles Hill Mailes), hires Hardain (Warner Oland), a phony spiritualist to arranger a fake seance in the hope that a fabricated message from his late mother will change his father's mind. Complications soon arise.

A man is convicted of killing his boss, whom he suspected of having an affair with his wife. On board the train taking him to prison for his execution is a reporter who is dying of lung cancer and wants to interview the condemned man--and who also has some inside knowledge of the circumstances of the man's case. Also aboard is the prisoner's wife, who doesn't believe her husband is a killer and desperately wants to talk to him about it but he refuses to speak to her.

Something bizarre happens at the zoo. A man wakes up completely naked among the crocodiles. He doesn't remember how he ended up there, and he also can't seem to recall where he's been in the last three years. The unusual case is assigned to a young, female detective and her alcoholic male partner, about to retire. All traces lead to a mysterious cult whose guiding motto is: "Consciousness is suffering."

The gardener Cabral stumbles with the grave of his boss Dr. Marcio in the garden of his small ranch and tells his discovery to his wife and neighbors. When his boss returns to the ranch, Cabral realizes that he is another man. Soon he learns that the man is the twin brother of Dr. Marcio that was raised by his mother, a notorious prostitute, and now has decided to take the place of his wealthy brother that he killed. Further, his gangsters arrest the employees in a barn to rape the women and execute them later. Will they have the chance to survive?

The disappearance of nine-year-old Jan Poulsen (Michael Hoppe) causes his parents, the handball star Mikkel (Nicklas Kingo) and his wife Tamara (Laura-Sophie Warachewicz), to panic. Shortly afterwards, the kidnappers make crazy demands: Mikkel should terminate the contract he has already signed with a large Parisian handball club and stay in Flensburg in the coming season. It makes sense that the perpetrators are a few crazy fans. Svenja Rasmussen (Katharina Schlothauer), who has now decided against returning to Hamburg, and Antoine "Tony" Haller (Eugene Boateng) investigate the fan scene with the help of club chairwoman Fiona (Romina Küper). But the hope of being able to hold Jan in their arms again soon does not come true for Mikkel and Tamara.
