El Elefante Blanco

This is basically the first in a series of microcinema projects where I try and get to better know the culture of Santa Cruz, California, through one individual at a time. This is a quick and interesting introduction to Ian Gillberg, one of the street artists who perform in downtown Santa Cruz. I happened upon Gillberg on my way back to my car from shooting another event. There was something about the whole scene and street corner vibe that compelled me to pull out the camera and start shooting. Fortunately, he was as articulated as he was talented, and the idea came together really well.
