Assassination happened in the heart of Zagreb, capital of Croatia, by a planted bomb in front of Nacional Magazine office building. Ivo Pukanic was owner and editor in chief of Nacional, the most popular political and news magazine at that time, and Niko Franjic was Head of Marketing. Nacional wrote extensively about crime, politics and smuggling prior to the assassination. Assassins were arrested but it was never found out who ordered and paid for the assassination of Ivo Pukanic. This tragic event remains unresolved even after 15 years, leaving the families grappling with profound grief and unanswered questions.
