Prologue and Ekphrasis on Alberto Camerini
A portrait of Italian singer-songwriter Alberto Camerini. Evoking certain key moments in the career of the singer-songwriter, the film outlines the peculiarities of his style, bringing together pop, punk, folk and electronic music, inspired on one hand by the Commedia dell'Arte, Giambattista Tiepolo and Venetian Settecento, and on the other by technological innovations and the beginnings of the computer age. Camerini's trajectory - comprising his beginnings within radical Left movements in Milano, his breakthrough as a popstar, his steep decline - is evoked against the background of the so-called riflusso: a general resignation to the private sphere and a concomitant political and social disengagement that characterized the transition from the 70s to the 80s in Italy.
