Summary Die Brücke, aka "The Bridge", is a drama which combines both the experiences of refugees in Germany and the perspective of the inhabitants. All are facing the situation of living through a cultural change, and all of them are finding different ways of dealing with it. Violence, violation and terrorist attacks - Inga is scared by the news and sympathizes with Pegida, which leads to a nasty argument with her liberal husband. Safi and his family are Syrian refugees who are trying to make up a new life in Germany. And Max is a racist out of boredom, not able to find another way of coping with his own frustration about his shattered family. One day, Max and his friends kill Inga's husband - as a reaction to his attempt at helping Safi's family that was being tortured by the racists before.
