Beau Pluto sits at a black grand piano that is decorated with white neon lights. He begins to perform "Prélude Op. 23 No. 5" by Sergei Rachmaninoff, and as the music progresses Beau Pluto visually expresses the emotions found in the music.

Bong-sam abandons his dying wife, Su-in, to live with a wealthy widow. He takes his young son to be raised by his new stepmother. Su-in dies, but her spirit remains to watch over her son who is now leading an unhappy life with the abusive widow. Unable to stand by passively, the ghost decides that she must take revenge
