Den gale dansker

Summary Rasmus Hansen is a Danish sailor. Christine is a French singer. They live together in Antwerp, one of Europe's largest port cities. It all looks very good. But Christine and Rasmus have it like so many other loving couples: Who should decide? For Rasmus, there is no doubt. Unfortunately, that is not the case for Christine either. So they love each other when he is home from his travels while arguing. Maybe it would all run into the sand with the two if they did not find an event that could set off their emotions a little. None of them had expected it to be a whole world war. In August 1914, the First World War breaks out, and even though Rasmus manages to get his Christine to Fanø on a love holiday, it is not a victory for him. It's empty. All are taken home or to the front. They themselves return to Antwerp, which is now occupied by the Germans. What is the love of an entire world war ?. Rasmus goes on a trip with the English merchant navy after shooting a German officer. Incidentally, he is also firmly convinced that the war will only last a few months. When he returns home in 1919, Christine has, in spite of her anger, married an ice-cold man who is a banker. Rasmus comes all the way out in the ropes. He had thought Christine would wait for him until doomsday. Therefore, the last love showdown between them is now being planned, but on completely different terms than before the war.
