1944, Artek. The girl Nadya, together with the children of the German captain, paints ribbons for the wish tree. The Germans do not want to surrender Crimea, but Nadezhda's faith lights the red banner of Soviet soldiers on Mount Ayu-Dag, predicting inevitable defeat for the enemy.

The film will tell about the feat of the oldest Hero of the Great Patriotic War named Matvey Kuzmin.

1943. Anna Petrova is a combat pilot who was seriously injured. She returned to the rear and works as a chief engineer at an aircraft factory, where new Krecheta aircraft are being prepared for testing. The management of the plant, not knowing about the consequences of her injury, instructs Anna, together with Major Zotov, to overtake the prototype of the Krechet to the front. In addition to the desire to defeat the enemy and return home with a victory, Anna also pursues a personal goal. She is determined to get even with Major Briggel, the German pilot who killed her lover.

The painting is dedicated to the exploits of Soviet underground workers and partisans who heroically fought against the German occupiers during the Great Patriotic War. The image of the main character of the railway worker Ales Arlovich is collective, but it is based on the fate of the Soviet underground worker Fyodor Krylovich, who committed the largest land sabotage of the Second World War at the Osipovichi railway station.

1943. On the outskirts of besieged Leningrad, in a deserted village, three children and their mother, who is too weak to go to the forest in search of food, remain. One day, the sons set off on their own and find themselves faced with an unchildish choice - to save their family or the dog they find at the battlefield.
