Part One: TANGLED WEB: 2009 'When I look at the screen, I feel ...' Tangled Web is a filmed play about cyberspace and safety. The Goddess Athena and the spider, Arachne, try to prevent humanity from weaving a tangled Internet web. It was written with students over a four year period; conceived of and directed by York Region Drama teacher, Miriam Guttman; performed by students from Westmount Collegiate Institute, York Region District School Board, Ontario, Canada. Robert, a soulful sixteen-year-old, has been admiring Kathy for a long time. But Kathy represents a girl beyond his reach. Will he risk ridicule and go for his dream?

Valle is a young woman on the verge of giving birth. Fear and loneliness in her life drive her to the suburbs in search of her father. During the long trip she only encounters ramshackle villages and memories from her childhood. Valle is determined in her search until a car accident leads her to Ofelia's home. Ofelia is a hospitable woman in the village who shows a peculiar interest in Valle's pregnancy. The secrets and mysteries surrounding Ofelia force Valle to escape to the forest, where she finally gives birth to a strain creature.

Well-meaning but naive parents get involved in seedy and illegal work in the underbelly of Tokyo to provide for their young daughter.
