1941, Serbia, Yugoslavia. A remote village in Serbia in 1941. Through the fate of rural residents and the destiny of a partisan detachment reflected the horror and absurdity of war in Serbia during World War II. On the one hand, ordinary people and partisans on the other side of the Germans and the Chetniks. In this hell and hopelessness are born various atrocities and betrayal. The epilogue to the epic film happens in the liberated city of Valjevo in 1944. Huge urge for revenge will lead to a brutal showdown between two men - two ideological opponents. It revolves around the historic decision of scrapping Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

The film is depicting Czechoslovak tank brigade fighting along with the Red Army in the WW II. During the War Czechoslovak armored brigade was formed and trained in the Soviet Union. Although aware that they will be fighting mighty enemy and that many of them will not survive, that did not stop them. Brigade was performing successfully in the battles for Kiev, Rudi, Bela Czernaczovo Cerkev and became renown in the battles for Dukla i Ostrawa. The film also deals with the faith of one tank crew, which fights on the most difficult terrain covered by the Czechoslovak Independent Brigade. The destiny of the tank commander, sergeant Juraj Klimke was followed during the bloody battle at Dukla. Juraj shows that his harshness is only a mask and that he is in fact a shy and sensitive person. Battle scenes in the film were enacted by 3000 members of Czechoslovak Army.

South Korea, 1979. Han Kiju is an alcoholic novelist who has never recovered from his year long tour as a volunteer soldier in Vietnam. When he's asked to write a book about the Korean soldiers who fought in Vietnam he's battered by flashbacks that remind him of the brutality and lies that destroyed his innocence. The serialized novel brings him back in contact with a former soldier who served under him, PFC Pyon Chinsu, the one-time company clown driven mad by the violence of the war and who now looks to Han for some sort of emotional rescue.
