The Great Patriotic War. The Soviet submarine T-9, having passed through the minefields of the North Sea, penetrates into the enemy port. Sailors sink enemy transport ships, but soon find out that they were late - enemy troops and weapons have already been unloaded and sent to the front. The journey is arduous and what they find when they reach the capital is dismaying and frightening.
