Summary COL Robert W. Black couldn't wait to join the US Army so he could be a paratrooper in WWII. Unfortunately for him, the war ended too soon. But it didn't stop him from joining the Army. While cleaning the latrine and listening to his transistor radio, he learned that North Korea had invaded South Korea. As a member of the 82nd Airborne, he jumped at the chance to become a US Army Ranger.
