Summary Cinema is the medium that enriched the cultural and economic relationships between Italy and the United States the most. Thanks to the post-war settlements between the two countries, Italy was, at the time, the number one export market for the American cinema. A lot has changed since the 1950s, but the two industries still share a deep bond. In Italy the mark left by this era is still visible, and has allowed an excellent cinema production school to develop. Cinecittà has hosted some of the most important cinema productions of all times: from 'Ben Hur' to 'Gangs of New York', from 'Cleopatra' to 'The Passion of the Christ'. Today, thanks to the work of directors such as Gabriele Salvatores, Roberto Benigni, Paolo Sorrentino, and Giuseppe Tornatore, the Italian cinema proves itself to be central to the world of the Seventh Art. This is what we want to tell with 'Cinema Maestro', the origins and imagery that the cinema has created and its effects on nowadays society. Cinema Maestro narrates the cinematic ties between the United States and Italy, as told through the eyes of lesser - known heroes, namely, the workers-those who prepare the entire project which we then watch on the big screen. Who are the workers of the 'Cinema Maestro,' those who tell the lesser-known story of the film? View more details
