During the Great Patriotic War in 1942, by decision of the headquarters of the Supreme High Command near Rivne, a special-purpose detachment "Winners" was created. Reconnaissance is the main task assigned to the detachment commander Dmitriy Medvedev. Intelligence gathering under the guise of a german officer is carried out by security officer Nikolay Kuznetsov, known in the detachment under the name Grachyov.
