Chu So-Ngo never took her job seriously. She works leisurely behind the desk at the police station waiting for the day to end so she can go home to her loving husband and obedient young son. Her job at the police station is just for her to kill time and make spare money for her to spend. However, things took an unexpected turn when her boss's wife thought So-Ngo was having an affair with her husband and had her transferred to the Patrol Unit. Soon she also learns her happy marriage is not as perfect as it seems when she finds out her husband has a kept mistress up in Mainland China and plans to divorce her so he can marry his pregnant mistress. No longer living carefree, So-Ngo has to worry about paying the bills and taking care of her son by herself. She decides to switch for desk duty to on the beat duties because of the better pay. As a beat officer she gets to know Senior Inspector Chan Siu-Sang better. The two have an close friendship and soon starts developing feelings for each other, but their relationship is put on hold when her ex-husband wants her back. Chan Siu-Sang's niece Chan Sam-Yuen, is a tomboy who has always dreamed of becoming a cop like her uncle. Since she is so active in her job her superior Ching Fung writes her up for being to ambitious and unruly. Chan Siu-Sang being more senior than Ching Fung decides to stand up for his niece and tells Fung to be a better superior instead. While always bickering with each other Sam-Yuen and Fung soon find out they also have a lot of the same interest. When Fung's girlfriend breaks up with him for neglecting her he soon starts to fall for Sam-Yuen. Later when Siu-Sang is framed for a crime he didn't commit will Sam-Yuen arrest him or let him go so he can find evidence to bring the real culprit to justice.

Disaster is looming in gangland because of a murder case. Cheung Sai-lun (Vincent Wong), Chinese American drama fanatic, returns to Hong Kong to look for opportunities in showbiz. Sai-lun somehow encounters a policewoman called Koo Yan-yee (Crystal Fung), who gives him an important assignment that requires him to pretend to be an orphan of Big Boss of Union Gang. With the assistance of a seasoned decoy called Ko Bun (Owen Cheung), Sai-lun becomes Big Boss. Sai-lun then repeatedly offers help to gang leader So Tsz-shan (Kathy Yuen) and an actress by the name of Chong Ming-lai (Samantha Ko). You Ching-shui (Angel Chiang), lady boss of some nightlife venue, and a trio of unrelated fresh-faced ladies also keep clinging to Sai-lun. While Sai-lun is starting to venture into gangland, he and Ko Bun become amicable partners. And with absolute protection provided by formidable fighter Luk Chau (Brian Chu), crises are overcome. But nobody is aware of some shocking scheme has been awaiting him behind the gang activities.

Rental is black comedy 2 weeks after the execution. 24 HOUR RENTAL follows Tracker (Orzari), a former Mafia boss. Having barely avoided an early retirement in a shallow grave, he now operates a seedy video store. Struggling to stay afloat in the Internet age, Tracker runs his shop as a front for a host of petty crimes-from fencing jewellery to peddling dope cut with Drano and desperation-all in hopes of returning to power.

There are two orderlies working in the forensic morgue of the provincial hospital - former criminal-recidivist Pal Palych Shishko and former detective Nikolay Ivanovich Kedrov. They are completely different, do not like each other, but in public they communicate in an emphatically formal manner. The only thing they have in common is work. One day, a young investigator, senior lieutenant Dmitriy Saikin, appears at the morgue. The management considers him a failure and pins the most hopeless cases on him. But everything changes when Saikin witnesses how Kedrov and Shishko, in a few sentences, destroy the expert's conclusions and not only establish the exact place, time and method of the murder, but also describe in detail the appearance of the killer, naming his name at the end. And the laurels are given to Saikin. Thus begins a strange collaboration between the orderlies and the investigator, solving one murder after another.
