Century of Progress

Story of an aboriginal family who tries to move out of the fringe into the main white community.

Shekhar marries Sharda, but soon he is arrested by the police for the murder of a woman named Hemlata, with whom he was involved. He is later tried in the court by his disapproving father.

Members of a cult, modeled on Aum Shinrikyo, sabotage a city's water supply, then commit mass suicide near the shores of a lake. Family members of those affected by it meet at the lake to observe the anniversary of their loved ones' deaths.

Follows Maisie and her father Kurt who have to leave their Brooklyn bubble to go back to Kurt's childhood home in Minnesota, where Maisie upsets long-standing family traditions, falls in love, and makes her family face their issues.

Young aimless men come of age in a troubled Hertfordshire New Town.
