Calendar Killings

Business tycoon James J. "J. J." MacGlennon is found guilty of corruption and sentenced to prison, along with his son Jonathan, who testified against him but feels he is also guilty because they are related. Jonathan, an intellectual socialist, disapproves of his father's business methods, which he believes indicate that J. J. has criminal proclivities. He and J. J. bicker all the way to prison, while J. J.'s business is taken over by his greedy vice-president, Percy Webb. Although Jonathan's cellmate is surly convicted killer Frank Lucacelli, Jonathan insists that they get along, and when Frank tries to strike him, Jonathan calmly knocks the killer out and continues his exhortation about man's need for humanity. As MacGlennon Enterprises' stock drops, and Webb forms a partnership with crooked lawyer Frederick Driscoll, J. J. instructs his still-employed secretary, Elinor Cantwell, to continue to buy stock on his behalf so that Webb will never gain control of the company. J. J. goes so far as to have Elinor purchase Webb and Driscoll's potassium mine because he thinks that their business sense is so poor that the mine must be valuable if they want to get rid of it. Reporter Whitey O'Neil comes to see Elinor to confirm rumors that Elinor is engaged to Jonathan, but Elinor vehemently denies the rumor because of her intense dislike of the self-absorbed intellectual. Jonathan receives a pardon after a board of inquiry determines that he was blameless for his father's machinations. Worried that his company will go under with Webb at the helm, J. J. seizes this opportunity to convince Jonathan that he has reformed, and now wants his son to run the company as he pleases. In truth, J. J. is counting on the probability that with Jonathan in charge, stock prices will plummet, and he will be able to buy up the dominating shares. Jonathan, however, is sincere in his desire to reform American business, and immediately confides in the cleaning woman, Yettie Kropatchek, a minor stockholder. An appalled Webb is ousted, while Jonathan starts instituting radical policies and interviewing small businessmen with whom he hopes to form an alliance. When every small business owner fails to be interested in Jonathan's plan, he becomes despondent and admits to Elinor that he has overestimated his fellow man. Jonathan then confesses his love for Elinor. Elinor is so moved by his compassion that she bursts into tears, and admits that she too loves him, but has been working on his father's behalf to ensure that all the businessmen would reject Jonathan's plan. Buoyed by this news, Jonathan kisses Elinor and finds renewed vigor to revolutionize business. Jonathan's model of business succeeds so well that it becomes an asset to the war effort, and the company is hailed nationwide. Webb, Driscoll and Webb's secretary Mimi, meanwhile, plot revenge against Jonathan, and hire an ex-convict to murder him. When the killer, Frank, recognizes his former cellmate, however, he refuses to kill him because he always treated Frank as an equal. J. J., who now wholeheartedly supports his son's business theories, obtains a special one-day release to attend the stockholders' meeting, and his appearance foils Webb's last attempt to take control. Whitey writes a story about J. J.'s change, along with the fact that Frank has accused Webb of attempted murder, and announces Jonathan and Elinor's engagement. J. J., who was released only because of Whitey's influence with the governor, then goes to see his son, who, at that moment, is being lectured by a Hungarian professor. The professor convinces Jonathan that his business theories will ultimately fail, and that capitalism and individual achievement are the only business methods that work.

Rajan is a rich NRI and his sister Gowri wanted to conduct his marriage at the earliest. But, an unfortunate accident turns everything upside down and the mystery behind the accident forms the plot of the movie.

James Kestner is a government secret agent on the trail of a band of counterfeiters and particularly anxious to locate the head of the gang, Frank Lambert, who, in addition to his skill as a counterfeiter, is known to the underworld as the only man who can fill in the perforations of a used bank check. Kestner locates the band in their underground work shop near the river front. He cleverly maneuvers his way into the headquarters of the band when it is empty, but is caught in the act of searching for incriminating evidence by "Bull's Eye" Cherry, a clever girl crook, and one of the mainstays of Lambert's crowd. Lambert and his daughter, who has been educated in crime by her father, return to find Kestner held at the point of Cherry's revolver. Lambert is for killing the detective outright. Impressed by Kestner's brave demeanor, Maura intercedes in his behalf, but finding her father determined in his intention to kill the government agent, she pretends that the police are outside. The counterfeiters make their escape without settling accounts with Kestner. Kestner locates the criminals in their new quarters. One of his assistants trails "Bull's Eye," who has the new counterfeit plates in her possession, but she cleverly evades capture and returns the plates to Lambert's headquarters. Kestner forces his way into the gang's rooms, arriving just in time to witness a desperate battle between Lambert and Tony Morello, one of his accomplices, whose passion for Maura has led him to attempt to force his advances upon her. Lambert kills Morello with a knife, but before dying the man acquaints Maura with the fact that Lambert is not her real father, but that he stole her when a baby and reared her to this life of crime. Kestner places Lambert under arrest, but the crook evades capture a second time by a ruse. Kestner's assistant arrives with the police, but Kestner permits Maura to go free on account of her having saved his life on the occasion of their first meeting. Kestner is determined to capture Lambert single-handed. He trails him to a midnight rendezvous on a wharf, where he and Lambert fight it out to a finish. The revolver battle between the two men in the dark culminates in a hand-to-hand encounter in which Kestner ultimately proves victor, but has barely strength enough to handcuff himself to his unconscious opponent before collapsing. In the end Kestner induces Maura to return to the straight road, and she takes up her home with his mother. The story closes with the intimation that the romance so strangely begun will lead, as time passes, to a life of happiness for them, together.

A Jewish child from a rich neighborhood in Haifa leaves his home and disappears. Three days later, his body is found naked with violent marks and signs of cruel rape. The headlines in the newspapers are quick to point the blame on Arab terrorists. Indeed, a month later, the police arrest five Israeli Arabs who work in deliveries for the supermarket at the boy's neighborhood. The five of them are charged with murder although they presented a firm alibi, claiming their testaments were forced out of them by using violence and torture and that they are innocent and that they had never met the child at all. On February 2017, after thirty-four years in prison, three of them, Ali, Fathi and Samir, were released from prison and they returned to their families. All these years, they had to remain silent out of fear from the authorities in Israel. Now, their story is heard for the first time in the film - Al Muthamin (The Accused).
