In 'Jens Jensen The Living Green' follows the career of Danish-born JENS JENSEN (1860 - 1951) from street sweeper, to 'dean of landscape architecture', to pioneering conservationist. Jensen battles corruption and unbridled industrial expansion to make the modern city livable by bringing 'the living green' into the wretched lives of Chicago's workers. Striking cinematography and an evocative soundtrack illuminate colorful witness from Prairie School architect ALFRED CALDWELL and an intensely reflective interview with JENSEN. Today, residents of underserved communities still suffer the effects of 'park deserts' and 'food deserts' - but the healing power of nature is recognized. Jensen leveraged his relationships with FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT, HENRY FORD and JULIUS ROSENWALD to stop the steel mills from industrializing the entire shoreline and preserve native Midwestern landscapes.

The story of a city, the apartheid era, neo-colonialism under Mobutu and the censorship of certain preachers unfold through this narration of the fate of Kinshasa's cinemas. At the same time, "La Belle" celebrates the Kinshasa cowboys who found their identity in the Spaghetti Westerns of the 1960s and the vibrant commitment of many Kinshasans today to the memory and future of the cinema industry. Carefully documented, lyric in its imagery, "La Belle at the Movies" is a testimony of a moment in time where the film industry feels orphaned but lives in hope for a brighter future.

A rising star who rose from bit player to writer, director, and star of comedies for Mack Sennett's Keystone Film Company, Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle recruited up-and-coming vaudeville comic Buster Keaton for a series of films from 1917 through 1919. Presented chronologically, these shorts demonstrate Keaton's evolution from bit player to full partner as both men honed their comedic skills. Following the 1921 scandal that was inflamed by a publicity-seeking prosecutor and the tabloid press, Arbuckle's films were withdrawn from circulation in America. The films in this collection were gathered from international archives and private collections, with new English intertitles and digitally mastered from 35mm, some directly from the nitrate originals.
