Boundary Lines

The Enchanted Lake is based on a real story. Nestled in the mountains at the edge of Greater Turin, the small town of Balangero is known for hosting one of the largest asbestos quarries in the world.

A woman meets a man in a bar late in the evening and goes to his apartment. A woman picks up a girl from school and runs with the child through the park. If we see such scenes in a movie, or are we watching such situations in life, we quickly believe we know who these women are: a woman looking for a fleeting adventure in the first scene, a caring mother in the second.

In the city of hyenas Fando and Lis has hopes of an elsewhere world "Tar", even if this is completely uncertain. Fable of a post-apocalyptic world, where Lis remains the last woman, the work expresses all the loneliness and wandering of Man, approaching the void. Based on the play of the same name by Fernando Arrabal, this opera in six scenes was commissioned by the Opéra de Saint-Étienne.
