Pepe Rey, Doña Perfecta's nephew, arrives in Orbajosa, a quiet and provincial city, with the task of building a reservoir. However, the presence of Pepe, a man of liberal ideas to whom unfounded revolutionary and even anticlerical intentions are attributed, is not well received in the town. In an adventurous tour de force, Klaus tries to prevent Ina from finding out about his business appointments at the hotel. But chance reveals its secret and Ina is rightly angry. The waves have hardly calmed down when Klaus has every reason to be angry with Ina, since he believes that she spent the night with his best friend and partner Erik. Instead of pure harmony, a storm is brewing and the Hellers are in the middle of the worst marital crisis.

The race car designer Kit Woods is in love with Kay Lord. Kay's father is against her relationship with Kit. Kit also has to do with the competition from his rival Garry Ames.
