A large metallurgical company where Muscovite Roman Mukhin works takes care of an orphanage in Khanty-Mansiysk. The management unobtrusively recommends that Roman, for the sake of career growth, take care of a child from this orphanage. Elena, Roman's wife, is not against it - she hopes that another child will strengthen their marriage, because the couple has long been in a crisis in their relationship.
We are introduced to two young girls living in Athens: The narrative focuses on the particularities of their souls, the rivalry between them, but also their common character trait: the obsession with illusions and stereotypes.
