Kevin Donovan pursues potential suspects in the murders of Barry and Honey Sherman, including a cousin of Barry's who's waged a 10-year lawsuit against the billionaire and made remarks expressing violent fantasies about harming him. Donovan's investigation uncovers the history of Barry's rise from humble beginnings to becoming one of the wealthiest men in Canada, as well as Honey's complicated life as a philanthropic powerhouse who was the child of Holocaust survivors. The reporter also challenges the Toronto Police Service in court in an effort to puncture the veil of secrecy around their investigation of these murders.

An urban explorer reveals the unsettling interior of the Sherman's home after the police tape came down and before its ultimate demolition. Donovan discovers the Sherman's will is under court-ordered seal, and takes on the estate and Toronto police in a legal joust that heads towards the Canadian Supreme Court.

Kevin Donovan reveals details of Barry and Honey Shermans' last day alive, what may have happened inside their home on December 13, 2017, and reconstructs the days leading up to the discovery of their bodies. Four years after the Shermans' murders, the Toronto police release a suspect video, sparking further controversy about their investigation even as Donovan continues to poke holes in their methods during ongoing court challenges. After the 5th anniversary of Barry and Honey's tragic homicides, their friends and family continue to mourn their loss, the killer is still unknown, and Kevin Donovan remains determined to uncover his or her identity.
